Exploring Feng Menglong Academy

Feng Menglong Village in Suzhou is the birthplace of Feng Menglong, who is a famous writer from Ming Dynasty. In order to carry forward the spirit of Feng Menglong and inherit the excellent traditional culture, Government of Suzhou has initiated the construction of Feng Menglong Academy in recent years, creating a library with the most complete Feng Menglong related books and a museum combining reading, book collection, book engraving, and cultural education for tourists.

Here, you can start a journey of history and culture learning.

Feng Menglong Academy is located on the west side of Feng Menglong Memorial Hall in the Village.

The exterior of the academy adopts the architectural style of white walls and tiles, and it is combined with the surrounding residential and rural areas. It is quiet and comfortable. Through the decoration of leaky windows and flower windows, it reveals the exquisite landscape and a strong scholarly fragrance.

The academy adopts a modern steel-wood structure, with a single floor building as the main building, with some double floor scattered in the middle, striving to achieve harmony and unity with the surrounding environment, and has the characteristics of a typical Jiangnan river town.

Walking into the academy, what you see is a large space surrounding the central water courtyard.

"Sanyan Study" is a space that integrates Feng Menglong's book collection, public reading, multimedia interaction, and cultural information display functions.

"Mohanzhai" is an empty area for book engraving experience. Visitors can experience the fascinating book engraving industry in Suzhou in the Ming Dynasty. Under the guidance of professional teachers, they can print Feng Menglong’s famous works of illustrations by hand in engraving printing.

The academy has two classrooms, called "Menglong study hall", one is on the first floor and can accommodate more than 50 people, and the other is on the second floor and can accommodate more than 60 people.

Exploring Feng Menglong's life here is like sitting in front of him for a day, having a deep conversation, and benefiting a lot.
