As you can see on this painting, the eyeball is like a ball popping out. I use a technic to make this eye look like a real one. Oil painting can be painted with one layer over another layer, and the colour on the top layer can cover the colour below. So after adding colours in the back, I drew the whole eyeball without the skin below it. After it dried, the painting became a solid base and I was able to add colour above that layer. So I added the skin and the shadow above the layer of the eyeball. With that, the shape of the eye looks really great and made my life easier.

Blue has always been my favourite colour, frankly speaking, I like to wear clothes with blue and the colour really sets me into a great mood. So I choose to use blue to represent the happiness. Another reason, with white being added into the colour blue, the mixture can create a really nice looking highlight just like the area between the eyebrow and the eye. That can make this painting look more 3 dimensional and real as well as expressing my feeling of excitement and happiness.

I did something different on this painting comparing to the previous one, I made the eyebrow comparatively blurry and unclear, so the viewers won't focus too much on the eyebrow. And I think this change had made this painting looks nice.
